Akerman

Akerman, Albert was born c.1856 in Sezincote, Gloucestershire. Son of William Akerman and Ann Brookes. He married Annie Rose Timms in 1882 in Northleach, Gloucestershire. He appears on the 1861 census for Adlestrop; 1871 & 1881 for Sherborne, Gloucestershire (living with his aunt Hannah Barnett); 1891, 1901 & 1911 for Sherborne, Gloucestershire. He was a farmer. He died in 1920 in Sherborne, aged 64.

Akerman, Gladys Naomi was born 15 April 1912 in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire. Daughter of Tom Akerman and Naomi Arthurs. She married Harold Aubrey Dix in 1935 in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire. As Gladys Naomi Dix, she appears on the electoral rolls for 1936. She died in 1993 in South Warwickshire.

Akerman, Henry was born c.1858 in Sezincote Lodge, Gloucestershire. Son of William Akerman and Ann Brookes. He married Eliza Butler in 1879 in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire. He appears on the 1861 & 1871 census for Adlestrop; 1881 & 1891 for Maugersbury, Gloucestershire; 1901 & 1911 for Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire. He was a carpenter and joiner. He died in 1931 in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire, aged 73.

Akerman, Kate was the daughter of John Akerman (brother of William Akerman below). She appears on the electoral roll for 1948. She died 18 August 1948 in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire, aged 78.

Akerman, Mary Ann (aka Polly) was born c.1860 in Sezincote Lodge, Gloucestershire. Daughter of William Akerman and Ann Brookes. She married George Cole in 1882 in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire. She appears on the 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901 & 1911 censuses for Adlestrop. She appears on the electoral rolls (as Mary Ann Cole) for 1918-1927. She was a laundress. She is buried in the graveyard at Adlestrop. See Photographs.

Akerman, William was born c.1830 in Longborough, Gloucestershire. Son of Thomas Akerman and Lucy Wallcroft. He married Ann Brookes 23 July 1854 in Bourton on the Hill, Gloucestershire. He appears on the 1841 & 1851 censuses for Longborough, Gloucestershire; 1861, 1871, 1881 & 1891 censuses for Adlestrop. He appears on the electoral rolls for 1889-1893. He was an agricultural labourer and game keeper at Adlestrop House. He died 18 April 1893, aged 63. He is buried in the graveyard at Adlestrop. See Photographs.
